Aggies tromp Boise

The Juniper tree is over 1500 years old

Jon & I headed up to Logan and rode our bikes to Jardine Juniper. I had to stop and have a little lecture with Cabalito (my bike) who kept trying to buck me off and make it difficult to stay on the trail. I felt lucky to make it back down in one piece. Could I be getting older and my balance getting worse? Nah. It must be the bike.

Jon was able to get mom's new record player working. She had to have a dance.






We later joined Mom, Wayne, Karen, Mardyne, Craig, Tanner, Anjali, Grahm, Dale, Myrlynn and their 5 daughters, Mikelle's kids, Kristopher and his parents at El Sol's for dinner. The special occasion was Kristopher and Maura were visiting from Tennessee so it was fun getting to see them for a minute. Maura announced she is pregnant by presenting an ultrasound picture. It's very exciting.

Then those of us with tickets headed up to watch the Aggies beat Boise in football. It was the craziest game. Boise had 7 fumbles and 2 interceptions. We recovered all the fumbles and scored 3 touchdowns within the last 2 minutes of the first half. I had to go tell dad all about it in the cemetary at halftime, although part of me thinks he might have already known all about it and maybe even had something to do with it. Each time the Aggies would recover the ball, Boise would "review the play" and the ruling would be confirmed in our favor. I've never seen anything like it. We haven't beat Boise in something like 14 years.

The fun and excitement took a different turn though when at the beginning of the 4th quarter Mardyne got a phone call from Holly in Cedar City that Anjali and Grahm had been in a bad car accident and were in the hospital. That's all we knew. I ran to get the car keys from Mom as we had driven up in her car so Craig and Mardyne could go to the hospital. I do not remember anything about the game after that but had a constant prayer in my heart that they would be okay. We later learned that a woman had run a stop sign at the corner of 2200 N and 400 E, just a block from mom's and hit Anjali on the passenger side. Anjali remembers a man and lady there after the accident wearing church clothes but nobody else at the scene apparently saw them. It all turned out to be okay though. They were checked out at the hospital and sent home. We feel so blessed that everyone was fine. Thank goodness for seat belts and baby car seats!

The next morning we had band practice then Karen, Wayne, Jon and I rode our bikes on the hidden trail by Tony Grove and out Bunch grass. It was such a fun ride. Karen had a little more excitement than the rest of us as she was coming down the trail pretty fast and a large stick got jammed into her front tire stopping her bike and throwing her over the top, her bike landing on top of her. It's pretty cool though to be 58 and take a fall like that and be able to jump up and ride on.

It was a fun weekend!
